Top Private Dining Rooms in El Paso for Special Occasions

No other city is quite like El Paso! Located on the Rio Grande, right next to the US-Mexico border, the city’s blend of Mexican and American culture has resulted in thriving arts, sports, and restaurant scenes.

El Paso is home to the Amigo Airsho (a world-class airshow), the Sun Bowl, and a wide range of truly fantastic restaurants. Even better, many great restaurants offer private dining, which is perfect for group events of practically any size and type.

Café Central is an El Paso classic. They first opened their doors way back in 1918, and they’ve delivered a combination of elegant cuisine and five-star customer service ever since. The restaurant is just a block south of San Jacinto Plaza on North Oregon Street between Sheldon Alley and East San Antonio Avenue.

Their private dining area is a separate room that can accommodate about 20 people. Everyone sits together at a long table. You’ll work with the staff to develop a custom menu and wine pairing. Café Central serves a full range of traditional and contemporary dishes featuring seafood, beef, and veggies. You should have no problem finding dishes that everyone in your group will enjoy.

With over 100 locations throughout North America, it’s impressive how Ruth’s Chris Steak House can maintain such consistently high quality, and their El Paso location is no exception. It’s located one block north of the I-10 near The Fountains at Farah on Gateway Boulevard. They have private rooms available with a dedicated event director.

Don’t let the name fool you; the menu is quite accommodating for large groups. Of course, you have a wide range of steak, but there’s also plenty of seafood to choose from, including seasonal options. I recommend their private dining for fun, festive groups who want a big meal and a classic cocktail or two.

Anson Eleven is across the street from San Jacinto Park and one block south of the El Paso Museum of History, on Oregon Street near West Main Drive.

They offer two types of dining experiences: the casual vibe of the Bistro on the first floor or upscale, fine dining on the second. Their private dining options can accommodate anywhere from two to 40 people, with a wide range of menu options and a dedicated coordinator.

The menu includes contemporary cuisine focusing on chicken, seafood, and veggies. The bistro menu is a bit simpler but no less delicious, with options such as a French Dip and California Chicken Sandwich. The tasty, accessible fare is why I recommend this place if you need to organize private dining for a group and you’re not sure what types of food they all enjoy, as Anson Eleven has something for everyone.

Landry’s Seafood House

Landry’s serves up seafood in a fun, social environment. Their Border Room can hold up to 45 adults, and if you have a larger group, the restaurant also has a semi-private space that accommodates up to 60. The menu is customizable for your preferences and budget. Their El Paso location is just off the I-10 on Gateway Boulevard near Westmoreland Drive.

Their menu features fresh seafood and veggie dishes, as well as a solid selection of steak and poultry. Whether with a private party or not, I love going here with a group of friends because Landry’s has a great selection of shareable dishes, such as fried calamari, New Orleans crawfish bread, and oysters Rockefeller.

The Taft Diaz restaurant is located inside the Stanton House, a historic hotel located on North Stanton Street, between San Jacinto Plaza and Calendar Park. The hotel is named after the first official summit between Mexico and the US when President Taft and President Diaz met in El Paso.

The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu consists of broad, familiar comfort foods that are enjoyable by all ages. While they don’t offer private rooms in the restaurant, reservations are available, and the hotel itself can also host large events.

Head on down to Mesa Street Grill, where they’re serving up contemporary American cuisine in an upscale but comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. True to their name, you’ll find them on Mesa Street, in the Mission Hills South neighborhood near Mission Hills Park.

Their private dining room features a long table along with several smaller ones that seat over 20. Your group can order off the menu or enjoy a customized menu you develop with the Executive Chef.

They offer expertly-prepared steak, pasta, seafood, and other popular favorites. I’m particularly partial to the Crab Ravioli, which features lobster, tomato cream sauce, and roasted asparagus tips. They also have a wine list with both domestic and international options. Overall, the Mesa Street Grill is a wonderful spot to celebrate with family and friends.

Park Tavern is a fun, hip spot located in the Union Square neighborhood, across the street from San Jacinto Plaza on Mills Avenue near the Stanton House.

While the open design doesn’t have any 100% private rooms, you can reserve multiple tables away from the crowds. It’s a social, friendly atmosphere that’s a good choice if you and your group are getting together to party.

They have upscale but familiar bar food and creative cocktails. Some of the popular entrees include Elk Tenderloin, Grilled Salmon, and the Chicken Piccata. The drink selection is impressive, with 11 signature cocktails and 10 microbrews on tap.

Magic Bistro

There’s definitely some magic in the kitchen here, because the food on my plate disappears every time! They’re easy to find, too, just off Country Club Road on Doniphan Drive, a few blocks north of White Spur Park.

Magic Bistro has extensive experience hosting private events of all sizes and types, from casual brunches to seven-course dinners. If you want to arrange any kind of event that requires elaborate plans, they can make it happen.

They serve intricate, layered entrees such as the Acapulco Chicken (chicken with chili green sauce) and the Apricot Citrus Salmon. It’s a fun night out for groups of foodies.

In Coronado Hills, you’ll find one of my favorite places for seafood and steak. Pelican’s is just off North Mesa Street on Shadow Mountain Drive. They’re home to some of the freshest seafood in El Paso, with twice-weekly delivery. Their private event services are entirely customizable based on your needs and preferences.

Their menu offers classic faves made with fresh ingredients. You can’t go wrong with the Bacon Cheddar Burger or the Fish Tacos. It’s a comfortable, family-friendly place with accessible dishes, making it perfect for family gatherings and other get-togethers with a wide range of ages.

Combining her Texas roots with her Italian culinary education, Chef Alejandra Chavez serves up tasty culinary creations in a beautiful, welcoming environment. The restaurant is near the major intersection of Sunland Park Drive and North Mesa Street. You’ll find a varied menu of fresh pasta, burgers, sandwiches, and other American fare.

Their Special Events Room seats up to 40 in a U-shaped table configuration that allows everyone to eat and talk together. It’s fully equipped with a sound system, projector, and even a private restroom. In my opinion, Thyme Matters is an excellent place for meetings and wedding rehearsal dinners.

If you’re looking for a calm, welcoming environment to gather with friends and family, I suggest Pot Au Feu, a restaurant that combines traditional and contemporary French-inspired cuisine. The place is in the Union Plaza area, just a few blocks north of the Hotel Indigo El Paso, on Franklin Avenue near North Stanton Street.

While they don’t offer private rooms, they accept reservations and can help you prepare a custom menu. Some of their popular entrees include their Fish and Chips, Rigatoni Portofino, and the Lamb Burger.

West Texas Chophouse

When you and your group are in the mood for great steaks, you have lots of options, and the West Texas Chophouse is one of my top recommendations. They’re along I-10 in the Cielo Vista South neighborhood, across the street from Ponder Park on Airway Boulevard.

Their private event services feature long tables with leather seats; it’s a great setup for both formal and informal occasions.

Steaks, burgers, and chicken are the main items on the menu here. While not the best spot if your group includes vegetarians, it’s an excellent place to dine for the meat-eaters. The low costs of eating in a private room are also worth noting. They have premium dishes at affordable prices.

Garufa

5411 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79912
Phone: 915-833-6100
Visit Website

Garufa is my favorite Argentinian restaurant in El Paso. They’re found south of Morehead Middle School, just off North Mesa Street, across the street from the 5426 Mesa/Festival bus stop.

Their private event services cater to groups up to 40, and include the use of an audiovisual room. They’re also one of my favorite restaurants for a private event with breakfast.

Are you new to Argentinian food? You’ll love it. The dishes feature beef cuts, cheeses, and veggies. Some of their most popular dishes are served up straight from the grill, such as their New Zealand Rack Lamb and their Chilean Sea Bass. Even if most of your group is unfamiliar with Argentinian food, they’ll likely find the meals accessible, savory, and exciting.

Entrecôte & Co.

5825 N Mesa St, El Paso, TX 79912

You’ll find Entrecôte & Co. in three locations around the world: Long, the French Alps, and here in El Paso. Their El Paso location is one block north of Moorhead Middle School at the corner of North Mesa Street and South Mesa Hills Drive. For private dining, they specialize in pharmaceutical events and business meetings of up to 100 guests.

They serve French cuisine, pasta, and burgers, along with a full selection of wines and cocktails. I recommend the Entrecôte Rib Eye, a 14-ounce prime butcher’s cut that the restaurant is named after. With private events, you can customize the meal or use the restaurant’s pre-set menu.
