Where to Get Incredible Steak in Boston

Where to Get Incredible Steak in Boston

Whether you’re enjoying a night on the town with friends or celebrating a special event with loved ones, I think that calls for a nice juicy steak from one of the best steakhouses in Boston. When it’s time to enjoy a nice prime rib steak or filet mignon, there’s no shortage of excellent options for you to choose from, especially in Boston.

Of course, for every great steakhouse in Beantown, there’s a handful of spots that serve painfully mediocre food. Considering a steak dinner usually carries a hefty price tag, the last thing you can afford to do is make reservations at a place that isn’t going to come through with the meal and experience you’re looking for.

Don’t worry, because there are still so many incredible options in the area. A5 Wagyu straight from Japan? No problem. A 48-ounce porterhouse for two? They have you covered. A funky 60-day dry-aged ribeye? Check. Whatever you’re dreaming of, Boston can deliver what you need.

While I was staying in Boston, the first thing I wanted to do was find the best steakhouse near me, but I ended up finding a few more than that. Check them all out below and find your favorite!

If you’re looking for an experience like you’ve never had before, Bogie’s Place is perfect for you, assuming you’re able to find it. Located inside of JM Curley’s bar on the east side of Boston Common, you’ll enter Bogie’s Place behind a curtain and enter the tiny dining room.

Like its namesake Humphrey Bogart, this spot is as classic as classic gets. The menu would read well on a postcard, and when you’re working with a menu that short, execution is even more critical. A few starters, steaks, a chop, and a rotating seafood dish are all you’ll find on the menu besides classic steakhouse sides and a single dessert.

If you’re in the mood for variety, Bogie’s Place might not be for you. But, if you’re in the mood for a steak and a few cocktails, Bogie’s Place is a winner.

A departure from a classic American steakhouse, Fogo de ChĂŁo offers an all-you-can-eat tableside carving service and a salad bar. Of course, you could forgo all this for an a la carte dinner complete with monster steaks or delicious specialty dishes. I wouldn’t hold it against you if you doubled down and ordered a wagyu ribeye to complement your churrasco service.

The Bancroft also offers an extensive menu of other proteins, vegetarian options, and an excellent seafood program if you’re in the mood for something besides steak.

The Palm Boston

When Italian immigrants Pio Bozzi and John Ganzi tried to register their new restaurant, Parma, on New York’s 2nd Avenue, it was mistakenly registered as Palm, and the rest is history. From comedic beginnings, The Palm has grown to nearly 20 locations, and each one is known for its legendary surf and turf.

Boston’s International Place location is especially stunning, with gorgeous design elements throughout the palatial dining room. If it’s steak you’re after, the double-cut NY strip is one of the stars of the show. But Palm’s best kept secret might be their crab and shrimp Bruno, which you can add as a supplement to any steak or entree.

Strip by Strega

This monstrous steakhouse just a few minutes outside Boston proper has been serving up enormous steaks, delicious seafood, and cherished memories for over forty years. Just off the Mass Pike, The Stockyard features an expansive dining room, large horseshoe bar, and several private event rooms for special occasions.

Their menu is large, with something for just about everyone. But, you come to The Stockyard for a steak. In particular, the center cut 42-day dry-aged New York strip crowned with Lobster Oscar is worth dying for.

The Stockyard also offers a more relaxed atmosphere than most, so it’s just as appropriate for beers and football with your buddies as it is for a celebratory steak night.
